Quite recently, I bought a watercolor set. I decided to try using it. I like how the shirt had turned out but I didn’t quite like how the hair had turned out.
Since I finished my exams, I would occasionally go to a café with my brother. Most of the time, I would just read my book or message my friend while enjoying a hot cup of tea. However, this time I decided to do something else. I decided to draw what I observed in the café. Also, I tried sketching on my phone for a change. For most of my drawings, I will just draw the character and not draw the background, so I took this opportunity to practice. This are my phone sketches:
I recently drew Alice from Alice in Wonderland. I used to love this story as a child. This is my first time drawing chibi characters.
Recently, I went ice skating with my friends. While I was ice skating, I saw a girl doing figure skating. She was gliding across the ice gracefully and I envied her. I wish I could skate as well. Seeing her doing some of her stunts, I suddenly got an inspiration. This was a drawing I drew after getting that sudden inspiration although it does not look like how I imagined it to be. This drawing shows a girl doing a Biellmann Spin.
Hello 2017 and goodbye 2016! With the arrival of a new year, I had already started to list down some goals that I would like to accomplish before year 2018 comes. Some of the goals I had last year were not accomplished so I had to bring it forward to 2017. One of the goals that I was not able to accomplished was learning a new language. The language that I wanted to learn was Japanese. In this new year, I am going to learn it with my friend! Of course, another of my goals is to improve on my art style. I hope I will be able to accomplish my list of goals before 2018 comes!
It’s Christmas today! 🙂 Merry Christmas! Here is an art piece that I worked on last week.
Hey there! I’m Mira Lanka, the author of this blog. I’m currently 16 years old.
For the past two years, I’ve seen artworks posted on Instagram and other platforms. I longed to take a leap of faith and share my art like those artists.
During my recent trip to Thailand, I weaved through the crowd at ArtBox Bangkok and met various artists who promoted their works on social media. Looking through their timelines inspired me to have my own start as well. I even visited the White Temple at Chiang Rai, whose artist’s humble beginnings prompted me to take action.
This explains my decision to display my art here, as well on my other social media accounts.
Ever since I was a young girl, I enjoyed drawing. It was a way for me to express my thoughts. In times of stress, it was my center.
Perhaps it was Beatrix Potter, creator of the Tale Of Peter Rabbit, whose works I enjoyed that had a great influence.
At the age of 9, my art style started inclining towards anime style.
I also enjoy doing craft work, though I feel I have lots to improve on. Some of these crafts involved polymer clay sculpting and beading.
Recently, water painting has piqued my interest. I am currently trying out water painting.
By having this blog, I want to share with my improvement in my art style over time, as well as improving on my writing style. Please support me! Thank you! 🙂
